About Alessio Berto, denim patterns maker
Born in outside Venice, Alessio started his career being inspired by his favourites designers like Jean Paul Gaultier, Katharine Hamnett and Chanel.
His experience in small to large companies directs him towards a broader and more evolved vision of the method of creating a paper pattern. With the desire to continue to challenge himself every time, he is today able not to focus on a single product but to have an open mind. This allows him to deal with various typologies, from technical to denim, sports and informal, from trousers to shirts and outerwear.
During his first 25 years of career, Alessio Berto has worked for the best companies in northern Italy, creating patterns for Jean Paul Gaultier Jeans, Katharine Hamnett Jeans, Andrew Mackenzie, Replay, Kenzo KI, Boy London, Sport Chanel among others making his student dreams come true.
In 2012 Alessio Berto decided to share with companies his experience, his method of “progressive” pattern making, culture of details and reliability, starting the The Tailor Pattern Support, a consulting office that provides patterns, prototypes but also trainings and workshops.
At the Studio, an archive of vintage garments is available to customers to give the construction of the garments an authentic identity and not just a standard approach.
