Panama Trimmings is an Italian manufacturer of denim accessories, especially labels. They combines experience and innovation. The company will be next December 5th and 6th at Denim Première Vision in London.
Panama’s research in the sustainable field has been playing a central role in recent years. With the success of recycled leathers, the company is studying the relationship between the fashion industry and environmental protection. Now more than ever, sustainability represents Panama’s core value. Chrome-free leather, recycled PET have raised quite some consent but two products were especially worth our consideration: G_label® Recycled graphite printing and VIRIDIS® Green PU leather.
“Less thinking, more doing: a sustainable choice to preserve our planet“
G_label®: Recycled graphite printing
This technology explores ways to convert waste into regenerated raw materials. Being “endorsed by Perpetua” makes Panama part of a community where sustainable innovation is proposed to the market in a fascinating new way, within a circular economy that is inclusive, collaborative and liberating.
VIRIDIS®: Green PU leather
Non-stop research, together with increased demand for PU leather, brought Panama to wonder if an oil derivative could become a fair vegan good. As a matter of fact, today it is. This new creation is a PU material made of vegetal polyols. As a result, it perfectly embodies a renewable source with no impact on the human food chain.
VIRIDIS®, at 1.5 mm thick and able to be hot printed, is the first material in the world to be invented exclusively for labels. The broad range of colours and presence of special waxes give it a natural pull-up effect, putting VIRIDIS® in the range of vintage-look labels. The certification of animal-free PU leather means it can be placed on one of the greener steps of the podium.
